Abode in the Park 2017 – Nexfest Preview
September 24th isn’t far off at all now, which means that Abode in the Park is well and truly on the horizon. The Ibiza party organisers and record label have gone all out to bring you some of the finest artists on the current electronic music scene. With one-day festivals becoming more and more popular, it makes sense for ABODE to join the club and throw an event of their own.
Having been in operation since 2014, Abode have got plenty of experience behind them. Consistently booking the best names on the underground scene has laid the perfect foundations, not only for them to build their brand, but also to stand them in good stead when organising an event of this magnitude. With in excess of 50 artists playing throughout the day, you lucky lot are definitely going to have some difficult choices to be made throughout the day.
The festival is split into 6 areas, all with their own distinct artists. Obviously, the main stage is the ABODE stage, which features the headline acts selected specifically by Abode themselves. Other stages are hosted by Solardo Sessions, Sankeys, Do Not Sleep, and the VIP area is hosted by Hotbed X Paravana Project.
So who do we recommend you check out over the course of the weekend? Well, we said you’d be spoiled for choice, and we have been as well. However, we’ve managed to whittle it down and select a few artists we reckon you’d be a fool to miss.
First up we’ve got Steve Lawler. Steve is no stranger to Ibiza himself, having held residencies at (among others) the now sadly closed Space nightclub on the white isle. Probably one of the most famous venues on the planet in the last 20 years. Lawler is known for playing rich, vibrant sets that span anything between tribal house and techno. Whatever he is playing, though, you’re bound to enjoy his set at Abode.
Also ripping it up at the one-dayer will be Liverpool’s own Yousef. Yousef has been at the helm of one of Liverpool’s most successful and longest running club nights, Circus, since it began. Indeed it was and remains to be his vision; it is a night that repeatedly brings some of the biggest names in house and techno. With this in mind, you can expect a tough, techy set from Yousef, who consistently brings the noise to Liverpool and beyond.
It is also well worth checking out Abode resident, Ellie Cocks. Her position as one of the brand’s own in-house DJs speaks volumes about her attitude and dedication towards the underground electronic music scene, and her abilities behind the wheels make her an ideal choice for anyone to get down to. Check out her tech-house bangers Like Tupac and Living if you don’t believe us.
There are still a few tickets left for Abode, so we suggest grabbing the last ones quickly before you miss out on going to one of Autumn’s top electronic events. See you down the front!
