Comedy and Music Acts Added to Reading & Leeds’ Alternative Stage Line-up
Reading & Leeds Festivals have been busy putting together the programme for their Alternative Stage, which features a volley of comic artists, all of whom will be bringing their own take on current situations to the event.
First up we have Simon Amstell, who is fast becoming a comic sensation, especially if his performances over the first half of 2017 are anything to go by. His mockumentary show, Carnage, has proven to be hugely popular (for those not in the know, it is a film about veganism, and is really quite amusing).
In addition, comic genius Bill Bailey will be on hand to split the sides of all spectators (check out his ‘apocalyptic rave’ version of the BBC News theme tune – brilliant), and sharp-tongued Katherine Ryan will be slaying pop culture in a way that only she knows how.
You can also enjoy appearances from Seann Walsh, Tape Face, Matt Richardson, Piff the Magic Dragon, and political satirist (or realist, depending on your leanings) Jonathan Pie.
Across the rest of the festival, more acts have been added. You can enjoy performances from the likes of Neck Deep, Sigrid, Scottish indie band, The View, Fekky will be bringing the grime, and Manc band PINS.
There will be an indie club night to enjoy as well, courtesy of Propaganda, during which you will no doubt hear all manner of modern indie hits to dance the night away to. Buttoned Down Disco will be bringing the noise in Reading, while Hot Dub Time Machine offer the same services up in Yorkshire.
Reading and Leeds Festivals take place 25 – 27th August at Richfield Avenue (Reading) and Bramham Park (Leeds). For the full line-up, photos, videos and ticket information head over to our Reading and Leeds Festival page.
