Awakenings Announce Line-up for 2018 Festival
It goes without saying that if you are heading to Awakenings then you most likely love your techno. There’ll be no stopping the 80,000 or so ticket holders who will be attending to experience an event providing around 40 hours of the genre.
Awakenings Festival takes place in Spaarnwoude, just outside Amsterdam, and features eight huge arenas to cater for the plethora of DJs and live acts on offer. Since it first came to fruition over 20 years ago, it has enticed the biggest names on the electronic music spectrum, and 2018 looks set to be no different to previous outings, in terms of the magnitude of artists they are bringing to the festival.
Several artists will be dropping two sets over the course of the weekend, with greats like Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, and Ben Klock all included there. There are dozens of other artists playing the festival too, so best get your best dancing trainers and the Deep Heat ready because you’ll be going at it for three days.
Also included on the line-up are; Siberian techno queen, Nina Kraviz; the enigmatic, brutal SNTS; Stephan Bodzin, playing a live set; and ‘minimal hi-tech’ producer, Boris Brejcha, whose Cercle set at Chateau de Fontenblau is a mindblowing experience if you want to catch it on Youtube.
Let’s be honest, the full roster for Awakenings is a techno lover’s dream come true. With the likes of Richie Hawtin, Sam Paganini, and Sven Vath also confirmed, it is easy to see how the festival has gained such legendary status amongst the electronic music scene.
