Bloodstock Festival Announces Further Line-Up Additions

The brains behind Britains biggest metal festival, Bloodstock, have announced four further acts who have been confirmed to play an already impressive roster. Previous line-up announcements revealed the likes of metalheads Judas Priest, Gojira, and Nightwish in main-stage headline position, supported by Kamelot and EBM  aggravators, Combichrist.

The open-air event is set for August 9th-12th and will be hosted at Cattin Park in Derbyshire, so at least we know the Peak District will be getting its fair share of monumental metal mayhem.

Joining the above we have four recently announced acts. First up are Israeli metal pioneers, Orphaned Land. Having undergone a number of name changes (they were previously known as Resurrection) as well as line-up alterations, the band are releasing their latest album, Unsung Prophets and Dead Messiahs at the end of the month, so expect to hear some new material as well as more from their 27-year career. You will find headlining the Sophie Lancaster Stage.

Sophie Lancaster will also host a performance from Vola, a progressive metal band hailing from Denmark. Having released their debut album to critical acclaim back in 2015, the band are currently working on a second. Worth watching just to see how lead singer Asger Mygind‘s vocal delivery works in harmony with the metal sound.

You can also enjoy a performance from Jasta & FriendsHatebreed‘s Jamey Jasta will be taking to the stage alongside some of his most well-respected peers, including Kirk Windstein of Crowbar fame.

Geordie metal act Venom Inc (previously members of Venom) will be gracing the main stage too, so if you like your metal with a twist of thrash thrown in for good measure, you’re onto a winner, here.

Bloodstock takes place on 9th– 12th August at Catton Hall, Walton On Trent, South Derbyshire. Tickets are still available to buy here.
