Boardmasters Announce Acts for Corona Sunsets Stage

This August, from Wednesday 9th – Sunday 13th, Boardmasters takes over the picturesque location overlooking Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay, as they welcome a whole host of bands, DJs, and (obviously) festival-goers to their 2017 five-dayer.

The Newquay festival has already announced some class acts to grace their stages, some of which include headliners, JamiroquaiTwo Door Cinema Club, and Alt-J. These will be joined by the likes of d&b purveyors, High Contrast, bassline trio TQD and indie-rockers Wild Beasts.

Today, organisers, have announced the inclusion of their Corona Sunsets Stage at this year’s festival. The stage is set to feature acts from the funkier side of the spectrum, encompassing house, disco, and other beat-friendly styles.

First up, headlining the Corona Sunsets Stage on Friday, we have none other than disco house royalty, Norman Jay MBE. If anyone knows how to throw down a storming set, it is Norman Jay, so get your hips warmed up because there’s some serious ass-shaking to be had.

He will be joined by none other than TayoFrank MoodyBobby Pleasure & Mr M (who will also be playing on Saturday and Sunday), HatchetShamuEasylife Sound Association (who appear on the stage on Saturday and Sunday as well), and Samiad.

Saturday sees the ever popular Doorly taking to the decks for some high-octane house music. Also welcomed to the stage will be Matt WoodsSleazy Wonder, and Jack Priest. On Sunday, you can catch French disco don, AeroplanePete Herbert, and Rat on the Roof.

While there is plenty of music to entertain, as this is Cornwall, there will be no shortage of extreme sports to get involved in.

Boardmasters Festival takes place Wednesday 9th August – Sunday 13th August 2017, Watergate Bay, Newquay, Cornwall. For the full line-up, photos, videos and ticket information head over to our Boardmasters Festival page.
