Boomtown Festival Reveals 2019 Dates and Details
Sooooo…another successful weekend in the UK’s most exciting town, Boomtown, has just drawn to a close. The production that goes into this festival is like something that has never been seen before, as organisers essentially erect an entire city to house the festival-goers, artists, and performers. The thing about Boomtown is, it is all about spectacle. And spectacle you will get. By the bucket-load.
2018’s edition (their tenth, no less) featured performances from Gorillaz, Soul II Soul, and Die Antword, among a whole host of other acts, and organisers have now announced the details for 2019…
BOOMTOWN CHAPTER 11: A RADICAL CITY
Wednesday 7th August – Monday 12th August 2019
Matterly Estate, Winchester, Hampshire. SO21 1HW
UPDATE: Tickets to go on sale Thursday 1st November at 7pm – Full details HERE
The Matterly Estate, upon which the festival seems to grow as if a vapour of the soil, will once again be transformed into a living, breathing, theatrical production where, for five days, the outside world is but a distant memory, as ticketholders immerse themselves in the verisimilitude that Boomtown Fair has to offer. Themes around the festival change in a heartbeat, as steampunk-styled streets give way to cotton candy boulevards and head into futuristic industrial backdrops.
Of course, the music is a huge part of what goes on at Boomtown. You can see just from a quick glance at last year’s roster that artists are carefully selected and a wide range of genres are on offer, although the line-up leans more toward the electronic side of things.
Boomtown is a festival that loves to bring you emerging artists, so expect to see plenty of underground artists repping a multitude of different styles, from jump-up, through bassline, reggae, techno, house, breaks, psychedelia, rock, and all that lies in between.
Tickets are not yet available to purchase, but keep your eyes peeled on NextFest for news as soon as it arrives.
