The Cure Announced as BST-Hyde Park’s Latest Act
2018 looks set to be quite the summer for BST-Hyde Park, a series of events that are set to run throughout the festival season, bringing with them some of the biggest names in musical history to the London green space.
Plenty of legendary acts have already been announced for the summer series, including the likes of Roger Waters, Eric Clapton, Michael Buble, and Bruno Mars. Now, however, organisers have announced a MASSIVE show featuring none other than The Cure, who will be celebrating 40 years in the game next year.
Everybody should know at least one song by The Cure, they have penned that many classics. With tracks like Friday, I’m in Love, Sleep When I’m Dead, Boys Don’t Cry and the heartbreaking Pictures of You, you can be certain that fans will be out in force to witness the genius that is The Cure.
Needless to say, they have influenced so many bands since their inception and had a hand in the evolution of a wide range of musical styles, from post-punk, to emo, to indie. Some of the bands who cite them as influential in their sound will be joining them at the event.
One such act will be New York indie-rockers, Interpol. Celebrating 15 years of their album Turn on the Bright Lights with gigs playing the album in its entirety, at the same time giving a glimpse of songs to come.
Iconic electronic act, Goldfrapp, will be making an appearance, as will Editors, Ride, The Twilight Sad, and Slowdive. There are more acts yet to be announced.
Tickets for The Cure at BST Hyde Park go on sale at 9 am on Friday, December 15th, 2017.
