DMA’s to Headline Hit The North Festival 2020
DMA’s, Fickle Friends and The Magic Gang are among the bands lined up to perform at Newcastle’s Hit The North Festival next spring.
Taking place on Sunday 3 May, the festival will be spread across multiple venues in the city centre, with headlining sets held at the O2 Academy.
Since its inaugural event in 2017, headlined by Slaves, Nothing But Thieves and The Hunna, Hit The North has firmly established itself as one of the UK’s best festivals for new music.
Topping the bill at 2020’s edition are Australian band DMA’s, who are currently supporting Liam Gallagher on his UK arena tour.
Having made waves with their 2016 debut album Hills End, the three-piece have been likened to Oasis due to their Britpop sound, and gained further success with their second LP, For Now. The album earned the LG seal of approval, with the former Oasis frontman describing the album as Biblical.

With a third album due to be released on 24 April 2020, Hit The North crowds will be among the first to hear some brand new DMA’s material.
Joining them on the bill are Brighton-based indie pop band Fickle Friends, who returned with a brand new single Ameteurs last month. Other highlights include The Magic Gang, Twisted Wheel and The Lathums.
