The family-friendly Bearded Theory Festival attracts visitors of all ages with its great music, friendly atmosphere and huge variety of activities.

2018 sees the festival taking place between the 24th and 27th of May and, as the festival won the UK Festival Awards’ Best Family Festival, it is pretty much a safe bet that attendees will have plenty to be smiling about come Springtime.

Over the course of the weekend you’ll hear an incredibly diverse range of sounds, and whether its folk, blues, punk or techno, all acts are of the highest quality.

The festival have announced that indie-rock five-piece Blossoms will be headlining the Friday night. Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2016, the Stockport-based band have become renowned for their live performances, establishing themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting new live acts.

Robert Plant is this year’s Saturday night headliner. The Led Zeppelin legend heads to Bearded Theory with his live band, The Sensational Shapeshifters, topping a main stage line-up which also includes Sleaford ModsFun Lovin’ Criminals and Idles.

Confirmed for Sunday night, we have Jimmy Cliff, who hails all the way from Jamaica. Jimmy is one of ska and reggae’s most revered musicians. His ability to perform on a multitude of instruments ensures that audiences are held captivated during his live performances.

The organisers of the festival will also be giving unsigned acts an opportunity to expose their talents to a welcoming audience, as they push the grass-roots scene, supporting bands whom they feel deserve a shot at the limelight.

The nippers are well taken care of too, as the festival has two options. One is the Bearded School, which will feature attractions for the younger festival goers, while teens are looked after by the goings on at the Rogues Hideout.

Tickets for Bearded Theory’s Spring Gathering are available to buy, here.
