The Czech Republic's Colours of Ostrava Festival returns in July 2019 with an incredible line-up headlined by The Cure, Florence + The Machine & Rag'n'Bone Man
Taking place in the astounding industrial area of the former mining site of Dolní Vítkovice, the festival will be spread across two dozen unique outdoor and indoor stages, offering an unrivalled selection of contemporary and classic performers, from electro to world music, jazz, indie rock, and reggae.
Ticket-holders will have the choice of over 350 events, ranging from live bands, DJs, film screenings, open discussions, workshops, theatre, poetry, art installations and kids entertainment.
The diversity of the programme is one among many festival’s assets: the event is held on the site of the city’s former mines and ironworks, a European Cultural Heritage Site – a festival site unlike any other.
Despite its industrial feel, the festival boasts plenty of green space plus a range of quieter and shaded spaces ideal for lounging and recharging batteries ahead of the main events.
Founded back in 2002, Colours of Ostrava was ranked by The Guardian as one of the Top 10 music festivals in Europe in 2016. Then in 2017 and 2018, the festival was shortlisted for the European Festival Award in the category Best Major Festival.
