Edinburgh’s Hogmanay is one of the UK's most impressive New Year celebrations, with a huge variety of mini events taking place during the build up to midnight.
Obviously, you can expect the usual fireworks displays dotted around Scotland’s ‘second capital’, but you’ll also be delighted to know that there will be plenty to be getting along with across the city.
There is set to be a Baby Loves Disco Hogmanay, which, as the name may suggest, is a good old disco for the little ones and big ones alike, starting just after midday. There will be a ‘big person only’ Hogmanay starting at 8:00 pm, as well as a candlelit concert starting at 7:30 pm.
It seems as though you would do well to head down to Concert in the Gardens as well, given that man of the hour, Rag-N-Bone-Man will be playing there.
There is the usual Street Party set to take place, so you can all come together and line the streets of Edinburgh as you wait for the clock to strike twelve and welcome in the new year in style. The torchlight procession will start at 7:00 pm and will end at Holyrood House with a stunning fireworks display.
If all of that isn’t enough to get you in the mood for New Year in Edinburgh, then you could check out Bairns Afore. Taking place at West Princess Street Gardens, this is an opportunity to celebrate Hogmanay with your kids, all before it is time for them to hit the hay! There will be fireworks taking place over the castle for spectators to enjoy.
