Shambala Festival is one of the UK's favourite family friendly festivals, taking place from 24th-27th August in a secret Northamptonshire location.

As well as more than 200 music acts spread across the main stages and dance arenas, there’s a huge kids area, creative workshops, carnivals, roaming theatrics, face painting, fancy dress and an endless variety of open spaces to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The three day explosion of music, mayhem, creativity and colour will once again be set in a secret Northamptonshire location, with a diverse variety of music, including rock, pop, folk, dance and world music. To top this off there’s also a roller disco, karaoke, and contemporary circus performances.

The easy-going festival doesn’t separate the music arena from the campsite, and there’s no restriction on alcohol. Whilst on the site, Shambala’s food stalls offer a culinary trip around the world, serving quality food and drinks from all corners of the globe.

Weekend camping tickets are available to buy, and there’s also the option of luxury camping in tipis, yurts and bell tents.

Shambala is wheelchair accessible, and provides an accessible camping area.

The Kamikaze: The festival’s main dance venue featuring everything from bad ass breaks to rinse out jungle, and from bubbling bass to deep dubstep. It also hosts the daily Roller Disco Sessions and the infamous, and hotly contested, Kings of Ping table tennis tournament.

Chai Wallahs: This unique touring venue has played host to some of the best in cutting edge music on the festival circuit over the last ten years, and this year will be no exception! Expect the best in afrobeat, funk, hip hop, alternative, reggae, electronica, pyshchedlic, folk, brass, world music and everything in between.

The Enchanted Woods: With stimulation for at least nine senses, the Enchanted Woodlands is a separate universe! Secret forest pathways will lead you to to hidden, mindbending, multisensory art performance and workshops. Follow the magical melodies and rolling basslines and you will discover the ancient wooded glade, where the hidden Woodland Stage will enchant you with indolence by day, and rumble with digital fusion after dark.

The Roots Yard: A little haven of reggae, roots, dancehall, with a smidgeon of jungle and dubstep in the heart of Shambala. From breakfast to bedtime, the Roots Yard shanti compound provides for the soul, body and heart.

Compass Presents: Under the halo of a glitter ball, the Compass stage brings an eclectic mix of live music, film and cabaret, before descending into outrageous beats and late-night debauchery.

Carnival Tent: The Shambala Carnival is the stuff of legends; thousands of people resplendent in their finest fancy dress, marching, dancing and singing their way around festival site. In preparation for the big event, the Carnival Tent will host workshops on Friday and Saturday, where YOU are invited to create masks, costumes and much more.

Koo Kou’s Nest: Brought to you from The Tribe of Doris, explore endless musical opportunities at Koo Kou’s. Leap into Buddhist chanting; play the didgeridoo; melt into Zimbabwean singing, spin tunes on a solar DJ set up, revel in singing glorious global harmonies, bring your instruments and jam in Balkan style or join the daily drum circle and raise the joy levels by a factor of fun!

Playtopia Kids’ Field:  This legendary space is absolutely jam packed with activities and entertainment, including: crazy bikes, trampolines, hula hooping, break dancing, carpentry corner, and more bubbles than you could shake a bubble wand at.

Creativity is the name of the game in the Arty Farty tent, and toddlers can toddle on on over to the ‘Toddle Inn’ for free and creative play on a giant scale.

Deep in the woods there’s the Woodland Tribe, where kid’s can build their own dens and even design and build their own adventure playground; amongst tree top nets, camp fires, rope swings and a truly spectacular zip wire!

The Family Yurt: Located right in the heart of family camping, the Family Yurt’s programme puts some familiarity and rhythm into the day for younger Shambalans, allowing parents some down time too.
