Gwenno to Curate Sound City Residency with Festival Performance
Sound City 2019 have announced that their Liverpool Festival, which takes place May 3rd-5th, will feature a partnership with Welsh-Cornish artist Gwenno.
The performance artist will be holding a residency which also sees involvement from Both Sides Now, a charitable organisation that offers vital support to female artists across the North of England.
Gwenno is an artist like no other. Taking folk tradition from the Welsh and Cornish languages, she seamlessly blends her vocals with influences from both the psychedelic rock and electronica spectrums, delivering material that is mesmerising to say the least.
Her live performances encompass the same magic as you can hear in her recorded material, so Sound City have pulled quite the blinder enlisting Gwenno‘s assistance in putting together the five-day residency, which will see her taking inspiration from the locale in order to weave her spellbinding stories.
Gwenno says: “We’re so very looking forward to spending a week exploring sounds and ideas with everyone. Working through the creative process collectively is so exciting and we can’t wait to see where we end up. Liverpool is a hugely inspiring city, so full of incredible stories so we’re all in for a treat.”
