Kala Festival Line-up: Inner City, Jordan Rakei & More Announced for 2019
Albania’s Kala Festival have just dropped a whole heap of impressive names in our laps, having confirmed the first lot of artists who will be performing at their 2019 experience.
The event takes place for a whole week, from June 12th – 19th, at Dhërmi, on the Albanian Riviera; a truly wondrous place and a stunning location for a festival.
Given that this will be only their second festival, we really are looking at an incredible line-up. 2018 has set the bar particularly high, but it seems that the organisers are up to the challenge, because they now have a roster studded with top names.
Included within the inventory of established artists are Inner City, Jordan Rakei, Honey Dijon, Jayda G, Fred P, LTJ Bukem, Prins Thomas, Secretsundaze, Call Super, Bradley Zero and Josey Rebelle.
However, Kala pride themselves on pushing emerging and underground artists into the limelight, so you can expect to be hearing from the likes of Peach, Norway’s underground veterans Øyvind Morken and Olanskii, Aussie up-and-comer CC:DISCO and multi-media artiste Danielle, while an impressive list of DJs, including Brian Not Brian, Jan Schulte, Jamie Tiller, John Gómez, Lauren Hansom and Nick The Record will be stars of the show over at the breathtaking Gjipe stage; a secluded beach in the mouth of red-stone canyon that can only be accessed by boat.
Kevin Saunderson and Paris Grey will be bringing their three-decade-old Inner City project to the festival – unmissable for techno fans as Saunderson separately pioneered the techno sound over in Detroit. Jordan Rakei, who is carving his own niche over at Ninja Tune, will be in full effect too, with his mesmerising blend of blunted hip-hop and smokey jazz.
Half of the tickets for Kala Festival 2019 have already gone, so don’t be holding off if you want to go – they’ll be sold out soon enough. Get yours here.
