Liverpool International Music Festival to Bring Hip-Hop Royalty to Sefton Park Palm House
Fans of the odd dope beat are likely to be overjoyed at the news released today, by organisers of Liverpool International Music Festival, that July 23rd will see hip-hop legend DJ Stretch Armstrong greasing the wheels at Liverpool’s Sefton Park Palm House.
The hip-hop impresario will be stopping by the Palm House to give ticketholders a real treat, in the form of his infamous No Sleep show. Armstrong is famed for breaking all manner of acts who have, at one point or another, been at the top of the hip-hop and rap game, including Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Eminem to name but a few. The New York DJ is set to tear up the dancefloor with a night celebrating hip-hop culture across the 80’s and 90’s.
Stretch will be joined by the cream of the New York hip-hop scene, as Kool DJ Red Alert, DJ Clark Kent, Jungle Brothers, and very special guest Slick Rick will all be in full effect during the evening. There is also a Q&A announced to take place at Lost Art skate shop in the city centre, on July 22nd, with DJ Stretch Armstrong himself.
Liverpool International Music Festival is well known for pushing boundaries in terms of the artists it brings to the city, and this year is no different as it features global acts as well as those who have found fame in the festival’s home city of Liverpool.
Further announcements have revealed performances from the likes of Katy B, Norman Jay, Claude Von Stroke, Corrine Bailey Rae, DJ Spoony, and everyone’s favourite army of eleven-year-olds, the ubiquitous and mightily talented So Solid Crew.
Liverpool International Music Festival takes place 13-16 July at Henham Park Estate, Beccles, Suffolk. For the full line-up, photos, videos and ticket information head over to our Liverpool International Music Festival page.
