Live at Leeds Announces The Vaccines As Festival Headliners
Indie festival, Live at Leeds, is gearing up to offer ‘The North’ one hell of a day out, as they have just confirmed their headline acts for 2018’s event, which takes place on May 5th, at multiple venues around Leeds City Centre.
The festival is one element of the larger Leeds International Festival; a celebration of culture, art, and music from across the globe.
Previously announced artists have included the incredible British Sea Power, Liverpool legends Queen Zee, Circa Waves, and Peace. The list doesn’t stop there, though. There are over 100 bands and artists playing the festival over the course of the day.
The roster clearly contains some of the most promising emerging acts currently on offer, so it is great to see the festival supporting the future of the festival scene, as well as the wider music industry in general.
That isn’t to say that the big names go unrepresented. The Vaccines have been announced as festival headliners, which will no doubt be ticketholders, as the band remains a firm festival-favourite, bringing with them a selection of raucous, singalong anthems. Expect to be hearing Vaccines mainstay tracks like Teenage Icon, If You Wanna, and Norgaard.
Many more bands have been announced, also. These include IDLES, the Bristolian punk five-piece, who achieved critical acclaim last year, with the release of their album, Brutalism. The relevantly recently formed noise-pop band, Superorganism, will be on hand with tracks from their debut album, Superorganism. They have been causing quite a stir since they first entered the public consciousness last year. Check out the amazing Something For Your M.I.N.D. if you want an example of how kookie this band are.
