One Tribe Festival 2017 – Nextfest Preview
From Thursday 3rd August to Monday 8th, the picturesque Cholmondeley Castle Estate is set to be transformed into a paradise for 2000 party-goers. The crew behind Audio Farm have organised their most high-profile and ambitious festival to date; One Tribe.
Previous excursions of Audio Farm have been small affairs, with 2016’s Summer Gathering taking place at Hendre Hall, with acts such as Alex Downey and Mobius Loop performing over the two days. 2017’s festival is like nothing the crew have put on before, with a mind-blowing lineup spread over 5 days.
The entire event is a wonderful melting pot of the arts, with music and culture combining to offer ticket holders the ultimate festival, with five days of sensory indulgence to feed the mind, body, and soul (which sounds perfect for us – exactly what a festival should be about!).
There will be plenty of spiritual activities to get involved in, with a Cacao ceremony taking place at 6 pm on the Thursday of the festival and plenty more such as yoga, sound baths, and reiki massage all included over the course of the 5 days. Workshops and holistic therapies will also form a part of the cultural aspect of the festival, so enjoy as much as you can while you are there.
In terms of music, the programming for this festival is off the chain. Seriously, ticket holders are incredibly spoilt for choice here. So, who do we recommend you get a load of at One Tribe? Well, here goes…
First off we have DAVE the Drummer. Techno and acid heads across the land should be rejoicing at this news, as Dave is well known for his hard-edged techno fayre, with heaps of acid spooned over the top. His beginnings on the 90s London Warehouse scene set his stall as one of the UK’s most well respected underground DJs. Check out his Hydraulix label, if you haven’t already – plenty of awesome tracks to be lapped up over there.
We also think you should be checking out Marc Constantine. Marc is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who deftly incorporates a loop station into his repertoire to add a totally cosmic vibe to his performances. Expect interdimensional sounds a-plenty as Marc weaves his yarns into a rich sonic tapestry. Hopefully, there will also be some beatboxing from his buddy, Donny to go alongside his musicianship.
Last (but by no stretch of the imagination, least) we suggest you pop along and get a load of Radioactive Man, AKA Keith Tenniswood. Having seen him several times, we can definitely tell you that Keith errs on the electro side of things. His Fabric mix is a testament to such and features his electro banger, ‘Ave That. Here’s wishing he’ll be giving us a load of that when he plays for us!
Final phase tickets are still available, but the festival is looking like a sell-out, so be quick and grab one while there are some left!
