The Prodigy, Paul Weller & The Libertines to Headline Victorious Festival 2018

Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival have announced that The Prodigy and Paul Weller will be joining The Libertines as headliners at Southsea Seafront this August.

Both pioneering forces in their respective genres, Sunday night headliners, The Prodigy, thrust electronic music into mainstream attention during the 90s, while Paul Weller, who headlines Saturday night, is one of the most influential figures in British rock music.

Indie-rock icons, The Libertines, who are working on their fourth studio album in 2018, will be providing the ultimate opening on the Friday night, along with Kaiser ChiefsShed Seven and Lightning Seeds.

Double platinum-selling singer-songwriter, Paloma Faith, will be gracing the stage on Saturday. Known for her retro-soul sound and eccentric style, Faith’s chart topping hits are as unique as they are infectious and her dynamic live show is sure to ignite the Victorious party.

Following a lengthy five-year hiatus and promising to “herald in a new era”, Friendly Fires head to the South Coast with some brand new material on the Sunday.

Also topping the bill on Sunday and headlining the Castle Stage are London-based electro-pop trio, Years & Years. With an eagerly anticipated second studio album on the way, the three-piece will be delivering an energetic set fusing old hits and new material.

Other confirmed acts include Madchester veterans, Happy Mondays, infectious art-rockers Everything Everything, rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer Example, Mercury-award winning indie rock band, Gomez, plus The Amazons, Embrace, Gaz Coombes, Billy Bragg, Pigeon Detectives, The Bluetones and Sleeper.

Festival Director Andy Marsh said: “We’re tremendously excited about this year’s festival. We were determined to pull out all the stops and deliver something incredible and I’m proud to say I think it’s our best line-up yet.

“With plenty more to announce in the coming months it’s safe to say Victorious 2018 is going to be truly spectacular, we can’t wait!”

With Friday tickets available from £30 and Saturday and Sunday at £35 a day Victorious Festival continues to be one of the best value festivals in the UK.
