Slayer, Smashing Pumpkins & More Added to Download 2019 Line-up
Download Festival is renowned across Europe for being one of the biggest and best rock and metal festivals in the continent, and their second wave announcement cements their position at the zenith point of their game.
23 acts have been added to the roster, and if the previous announcement of Def Leppard, Slipknot, and Tool wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, then today’s additions should get most rock and metal fans scrambling for tickets.
First up, thrash metal gods Slayer will be heading to Donington Park between June 14th – 16th. The Californian metalheads, famous for tracks such as Raining Blood, Angel of Death, and Stain of Mind, arrive as one of the festival’s headliners as part of their 2019 tour. Strap yourselves in, as this is their final ever UK appearance.
Also added are the mighty Smashing Pumpkins, who amassed a huge cult following thanks to a glut of impressive tracks, including 1979, Tarantula, and the classic anthem, Bullet With Butterfly Wings. In contrast to Slayer, this will be Smashing Pumpkins‘ first appearance at Download, so will be a welcome addition for fans of the band.
Further artists added to the bill are Dream Theater, Lamb of God, Eagles of Death Metal, Alien Weaponry, Anthrax, Badflower, Black Futures, Blackberry Smoke, I Prevail, The Interrupters, Jinjer, Man With a Mission, Nothing Nowhere, Our Last Night, Riding the Low, Royal Republic, State Champs, Underside, Whitechapel, Yours Truly, and Zebrahead.
Tickets for Download 2019 are available to buy now. You can grab yours here. If you are planning on heading to the show we suggest you’re quick off the mark, before all the Slayer and Smashing Pumpkins fans get in there first.
