Splendour Festival Announces Stage Times for July Event
2017 sees Splendour, who bill themselves as “Nottingham’s biggest family festival”, return to Wollaton Park, for their tenth year. Past festivals have seen the likes of The Human League, The Specials, Jess Glynne, The Happy Mondays, Calvin Harris, and The Pet Shop Boys rocking up to blow Nottingham’s socks off.
This year’s festival is no different. You are sure to find someone you want to see on this BIG line-up, which is headlined by none other than the one and only Kaiser Chiefs.
Black Grape, who recently announced their new album, Pop Voodoo, with the release of the first single from the long player, are also set to take to the stage. They’ll no doubt be performing tracks from their first album in 20 years, including single Everything You Know is Wrong. Shaun Rider is quoted in the NME as saying the album “really does rock the fuck out of the discotheque”. Can’t argue with that!
Want to know the full stage times? THOUGHT SO! Good job we’re here to help, isn’t it? Here’s how the day is looking up to the time of writing:
In addition to the above bands, we definitely recommend checking out the ridiculously good British Sea Power. The critically acclaimed Brightonian band have drawn comparisons with Joy Division and Arcade Fire. If you like your music to be cerebral as well as emotional, then this band are where it’s at.
If you fancy a laugh then there is an entire stage devoted to comedy, so you’re not going to go short of a chuckle or three while you’re down at the park.
The festival has the usual tasty treats available, be they a craft ale or a hearty snack. The event also features a silent disco, a funfair that you can enjoy between acts, and there’s plenty for the kids to be getting on with as well in the festival’s dedicated children’s area.
Splendour Festival takes place on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017, at Wollaton Park, Nottingham. For the full line-up, photos, videos and ticket information head over to our Splendour Festival page.
