Stonedeaf Festival Announced for 2018
If you’re a metalhead or hard-rocker who seriously feels bereft of a festival to attend now that Monsters of Rock is no more, then the announcement that Stonedeaf Festival will be making its inaugural appearance next year will be music to your ears.
The festival, which is due to take place for one day – Saturday 25th August 2018 – will be located at Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire. The festival is, according to those involved in the curation of the event, “seeking to recapture the spirit of the original Monsters Of Rock festival“. There will be camping specks available the night before and after for those wishing to get there early and not leave until the Sunday.
You will no doubt also appreciate that they have ALREADY confirmed three acts who will be playing the event. These guys don’t hang around, do they?! First up we have a performance by the Graham Bonnet Band, in celebration of Rainbow playing the first ever Monsters of Rock back in 1980 (when Bonnet led the band). They will be joined by Leicester hard rockers, Chrome Molly. The main headliner is yet to be announced.
Massive Wagons will be joining those mentioned above, and there will be a Battle of the Bands competition in order to add some new blood to the lineup.
Talking about the festival, the organisers say: “We’re a group of veteran rockers who spent every year waiting for that one magical day in the calendar: Monsters Of Rock. We shared our stories and that evolved into a feeling of loss, that Monsters Of Rock no longer existed.” So, if you miss it as much as they do, then Stonedeaf is the one for you.
Stonedeaf Festival will take place on Saturday, August 25th 2018, at Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire.
