TRNSMT Festival Announces Further Acts for 2018 event

TRNSMT Festival have recently announced a bevvy of acts who are set to play their 2018, five-date event, held in June and July of 2018. Already, we have been treated to a glimpse of the confirmed acts, as Friday 29th June and Friday 30th June bring the likes of The StereophonicsThe Script, and James Bay announced. Also playing will be Liam GallagherThe Courteeners, and Wolf Alice.

Organisers have now announced several of the acts who will be playing the festival on Sunday, July 8th. There are still acts to be announced for the day; however, three more fantastic bands have been announced to play the festival on the final day.

First up, headliners, The Killers will be in full effect, capably manning the stage with their own brand of indie-rock. With a wealth of well-known hits behind them, including Somebody Told MeSmile Like You Mean It, and Mr. Brightside. Their fifth studio album, Wonderful Wonderful, was released in September 2017, so you can also expect to hear tracks from there during their festival performance.

Scottish synth-poppers, CHVRCHES, will also be playing the Sunday of the festival. The band have six years under their belt, during which time they have garnered a cult following thanks to their unique take on the synth-pop sound. They are no strangers to festival performances, playing MELT!, amongst others.

Finally, festival favourites Franz Ferdinand will be on hand to deliver one of their many indie-pop anthems, including Take Me Out and Do You Want To? The band has a new album due in February 2018, so expect to hear the band playing new tracks from that, too.

As we said earlier, plenty more acts are yet to be confirmed for the five-date festival. Keep your eyes glued to NextFest as we will reveal further confirmations as news comes in from festival organisers.
