Victorious Festival Adds More Artists to 2018 Line-up
Having already confirmed headliners The Prodigy, The Libertines and Paul Weller, Victorious Festival has bolstered its 2018 line-up with a further wave of artists including The Cribs, Sleaford Mods and Brian Wilson.
Taking place from 24 – 26 August at Hampshire’s Southsea Seafront, Victorious is the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival, consistently showcasing top names from the indie rock scene along with an eclectic variety of support acts and DJs.
Needing no introduction whatsoever is the legendary Brian Wilson. Famed for illuminating the 60’s with an infectious blend of pop, psychedelia, complex melodies and tight harmonies, Wilson directed the Beach Boys away from generic surf stalemate to the soaring pop/rock masterpiece that is Pet Sounds. His performance of greatest hits on the Saturday of this year’s Victorious will be unmissable.
Celebrating 16 years at the most credible edge of lo-fi indie rock, The Cribs are another welcome addition to the Saturday line-up. With a back catalogue of six studio albums and an extended collaborative period with Johnny Marr, The Cribs are one of the most influential indie rock bands of the last 20 years.
And finally, post-electro-punk agitators Sleaford Mods will also be on hand to administer a large dose of social commentary on the Sunday (26th). Following the success of last year’s English Tapas, the duo’s blend of broken dance beats, driving bass and unique vocal delivery has seeped into the mainstream and garnered admiration from across the musical spectrum.
Also added: Dub Pistols, Cassia, Stereo Honey, Bang Bang Romeo, Catherine McGrath, Electric Pyramid, Fenne Lilly, Nathan Ball.
